2022 Summer Internship Program 

The IPG Health Internship Program is designed to offer college students the opportunity to learn about a career in healthcare advertising. Interns will work in real-world business situations, attend seminars on the different aspects of the industry and learn about the inner workings of an agency. 

Each week is strategically broken down to help our interns make the most out of their time here. Monday – Wednesday is spent working with the department you are placed in along with a personalized mentor to show you the way. Thursdays are reserved for lunch and learns where we bring in senior leadership from each department while chowing down on some delicious food on us. Friday is reserved for teams to work on the client project which is presented in pitch format to our c-level executives as well as the client.  
START DATE: Monday, June 13, 2022 
END DATE: Friday, August 12, 2022 
SCHEDULE: Full-time (Monday-Friday, 9AM-5PM) 
PAY: Hourly  

FORMAT: Virtual or Hybrid optional

What we do: 

  • Our agency producers oversee the making of our TV spots, print campaigns,  web content, and much more 

  • Our production team gets hands on by filming, editing, and animating  much of the work we do 

  • Develop relationships with top filmmakers and production studios in the industry 

Our end goal: Make the best work with the highest production value possible, within the budget and time allowed.

Day-to-day responsibilities  

  • Learn departmental levels and functions of each position 

  • Learn to do paperwork such as purchase orders and process invoices 

  • Do a budget estimate (overages and underages) 

  • Follow one job from storyboard to actual ad or commercial and understand the elements of commercial production estimates 

  • Gain familiarity with editing equipment and take part in the process 

  • Learn how to do dub tapes 

  • Learn post-production (Avid, file to tape transfer, effects, and sound) and understand how a production company works 

  • Attend actual shoot, if possible 

  • Read Shoot Magazine 

  • Learn basics of talent contracts and payment schedules 

  • Attend a casting call/casting session, if possible 

  • Attend a pre-bid and pre-production meeting (learn how to bid out) 

  • Attend editing sessions to see how decisions are made 

  • Screen and select directors (know the criteria), create timetables, select sound design/music/announcer 


- A rising junior, senior or recent graduate from an accredited college/university 
- Passion for advertising/marketing, film, production or related degree 
- Available to work a minimum of 40 hours per week for the duration of the 9-week program 
- Possess solid communication, computer, and presentation skills
